How is your car shipping estimate calculated?
Preliminary price = estimated miles × the applicable rate × vehicle quantity. For a running, unmodified car, open transport is $2 per mile through 1,000 miles or $1.80 above 1,000 miles. Enclosed rates start at $2.50 per mile below $200,000 in vehicle value. Non-running vehicles use a separate rate; modified vehicles receive a tailored quote within 30 minutes.
Eligible mainland U.S. routes of at least 30 estimated miles and one to three comparable vehicles can receive an automatic price. For two or three vehicles, confirm a shared route, condition, category, equipment needs and pickup window; running enclosed vehicles must share a value band. Mixed groups, four or more vehicles, modified cars and specialty services need individual review.
No. It uses the distance between ZIP-code centers multiplied by 1.2, rounded to 10 miles. This is a planning approximation, not a measured truck route. Exact addresses, access, equipment and availability are reviewed before the final written price.
